Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in warehouse or materials handling preferred
- ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds independently and over 45 pounds with assistance
- ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts
- ability to use computers and handheld scanning devices
- willingness to work in varied environmental conditions including hot, cold, damp, or poorly lit areas
- must be authorized to work in the United States
- ability to comply with safety regulations
- males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered with the Selective Service
- ability to submit required documents such as education certificates and prior military DD214 forms if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of warehouse layout, item identification codes, and basic warehouse procedures
- ability to complete forms related to stock descriptions and labeling
- proficiency in computer terminal use
- skill in operating material handling equipment and common hand tools
- ability to identify damage through visual inspection
- ability to work under supervision with written and verbal instructions
- capability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- adherence to safety regulations and workplace standards
Job Duties
- Receive and unload incoming merchandise deliveries
- open, inspect, count, mark, unpack, segregate, and tag items
- verify items against documentation for accuracy
- report shortages, overages, and damages
- warehouse stock according to specified locations
- periodically check labels or bins for location accuracy
- pull merchandise for shipment, transfers, or customer orders
- assist in handling trouble freight, including returns to vendors
- prepare vendor credits and surveys
- perform periodic inventories and assist with inventory preparation
- maintain cleanliness of stock areas
- operate material handling equipment and government vehicles as needed
- use automated identification equipment such as RF devices and laser scanners
- provide world-class customer service and assist customers courteously
- adhere to safety standards and report workplace hazards
- perform other related duties as assigned
