Job Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to suitability or fitness determination
- Completion of pre-employment physical exam and annual examinations thereafter
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license
- Must obtain and maintain forklift certification within 6 months of hire
- Ability to push heavy carts weighing over 650 pounds
- Required to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
- Position may be considered weather and mission essential
- Immunization screening may be required
Job Qualifications
- Ability to do the work of a materials handler without more than normal supervision
- Experience selecting items for shipment or issue
- Ability to visually identify different types of linen
- Ability to sort and store linens on shelves and bin locations
- Ability to calculate weekend and holiday linen requirements
- Ability to manage overages and shortages of items
- Ability to operate forklifts and motor vehicles
- Meets employment authority eligibility categories
Job Duties
- Receives, identifies, validates, weighs, unloads and stores linens on shelves and appropriate areas
- Maintains weight log sheet on all linens received from the Linen Contractor daily
- Reviews daily requests for linen supplies for accuracy
- Performs duties in Hospital Duty White Section including issuing and receiving uniforms, inventory, stocking and record keeping
- Uses computerized automatic transport system to ship linen supplies
