Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or materials science engineering
- minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- hands-on experience with ceramics, composites, and coatings
- ability to perform root cause analysis
- proficiency with Microsoft Office
- strong communication skills
- U.S. citizenship
- eligibility for DoD Security Clearance
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in materials, manufacturing processes, potting materials/process of ceramics and chemical/primers
- hands-on experience with ceramic materials, composites, or coatings
- proven ability in root cause analysis and materials failure assessments
- proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship required and eligibility for DoD Security Clearance
- experience supporting DoD, Navy, or defense-related R&D programs preferred
- familiarity with materials testing and characterization (SEM, EDS, XRD, DSC)
- knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards
- experience with product life cycle systems
- background in chemical process scale-up or pilot-scale materials development
- strong analytical and research skills with emphasis on materials and manufacturing processes
Job Duties
- Lead materials selection, testing and implementation
- optimize ceramics, composites, and coatings
- conduct root cause analysis and failure investigations
- perform laboratory and analytical testing and report data
- collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
- support DoD program requirements and secure project execution
- develop technical reports, proposals, and presentations
- utilize Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and project management
- travel up to 15% for supplier engagement and program reviews
