Job Requirements
- Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Experience in shipping, receiving, sorting, and distributing materials preferred
- Experience operating warehouse equipment preferred
- Experience driving panel trucks or cargo vans preferred
- Experience pulling trailers preferred
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to perform basic building repairs
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to travel locally and statewide up to 60% including overnight stays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred experience in shipping, receiving, sorting, and distributing furniture, supplies, or equipment
- Preferred experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies
- Preferred experience driving panel trucks or cargo vans
- Preferred experience pulling trailers
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as postage meters and copiers
- Familiarity with CAPPS Financial and CAFM software systems
- Ability to lift, pull, push, or carry 50 pounds
- Ability to perform minor building maintenance
Job Duties
- Drive state agency trucks and cargo vans to deliver and pick up large items such as furniture, filing cabinets, IT and telecommunications equipment
- Provide mail pickup and small package delivery on routine routes to HHS offices
- Load, unload, and deliver cargo safely and efficiently
- Evaluate delivery routes to determine cost-effective and time-saving paths
- Perform minor vehicle repairs such as flat tire changes during routes
- Monitor vehicle maintenance records and schedule regular upkeep
- Compile data from vehicle logs and submit monthly reports
- Perform shipping and receiving duties including inspection, signing, and confirmation of packages
- Process outgoing mail and manage postage, including weighing and labeling
- Maintain warehouse inventory and operate motorized equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- Assemble and install furniture and equipment
- Perform minor building maintenance and repairs
- Assist with office moves including transport of office contents
- Oversee contractors and vendors for moves and modular furniture installation
- Serve on the Regional Disaster Deployment Team delivering and setting up emergency equipment and shelters
- Utilize software systems such as CAFM and CAPPS for documenting assignments and inventory management
- Train and coach new hires on safety practices and vehicle usage
