Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to learn
- One to two years experience in material handling preferred for advanced levels
- Forklift certification required for Material Handler III
- Ability to work Saturdays through Mondays 6 AM to 6 PM
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds occasionally
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to participate in cross-training
- Ability to use ERP systems or willingness to learn
- Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards
Job Qualifications
- Can operate or learn to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts
- Can work in a team environment and communicate clearly
- Can identify and resolve basic problems
- One to two years experience in material handling
- Cross-trained in multiple operations
- Can train other employees on established processes
- Two years experience in material handling and are forklift certified
- Can actively solve problems
- Display attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in root cause problem solving (5 Whys, 8D, PDCA, etc.)
- Can effectively train other employees on work instructions
- Experience using SAP or an equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365)
Job Duties
- Operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility
- Inspect the forklifts daily and follow defined procedures and practices
- Operate equipment safely and effectively
- Know the basic functions of the ERP system
- Use best judgment to resolve issues or suggest solutions
- Join project teams and occasionally lead parts of projects
- Solve basic to moderately complex problems
- Cross-train in different areas as needed
- Train new employees or employees transitioning from other areas
- Access information within the ERP system and perform transactions as needed
- Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
