Job Requirements
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job including prolonged physical exertion, standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 75 lbs
- ability to be alert and aware of surroundings to remain safe
- ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials and trash
- ability to work in various weather conditions with exposure to heat, cold, wind, and rain
- self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision
- good verbal communication skills
- at least 18 years of age
- legally eligible to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to distinguish various recyclable materials and trash
- good verbal communication skills for effective and professional communication with customers and staff
- experience working in a physically demanding role preferred

Job Duties
- Sort a variety of recycled materials as instructed, such as concrete, metal, glass, dry wall, carpet, plastic, wood, roofing material, and green waste into designated containers or locations
- direct customers and vendors to proper loading/unloading areas
- assist customers and vendors with unloading and loading recycling materials
- maintain an excellent safety, attendance and work quality record
- take initiative to help to maintain a clean facility by sweeping, picking up, straightening, etc.
- break down mattresses and box springs into their component parts and deliver to appropriate bins
- sort metals to separate high-grade metals, such as copper, brass, and aluminum, for recycling
- work in a safe, professional manner following all company policies and safety precautions
