Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • pass a pre-employment background check
  • current forklift operator certification or ability to obtain
  • ability to perform moderate to hard physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds and moving pallets weighing hundreds of pounds using a pallet jack
  • exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals
  • ability to adjust vision focus and have close and distance visual acuity
  • adhere to safety protocols and Covid vaccination requirements as per governmental contract

Job Qualifications

  • Current forklift operator certification or ability to obtain
  • ability to see, comprehend and relate with customers in an impartial and effective manner
  • reads and comprehends basic written language and numerical information

  • ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems

Job Duties

  • Operates the commissary receiving/storage/holding area and receives deliveries of items/merchandise
  • offloads trucks by removing merchandise using forklifts or other material handling equipment and places merchandise in designated receiving area
  • transports merchandise and moves pallets or cartloads of perishable merchandise from receiving area to holding area
  • segregates/separates merchandise by aisle, commodity, or store location to prepare for staging and stocking
  • identifies and communicates with contracting any damaged merchandise received from deliveries
  • keeps receiving areas clean and free of safety hazards
  • operates gas and electric forklifts, pallet jack, and double stacker
  • follows all safety rules and practices in equipment operation inside the building
  • creates and transports cardboard bales and organizes unused pallets inside and outside the building
  • performs light maintenance and records safety inspections on equipment
  • assists in placing cases on the floor from truck pallets or overwrite areas
  • follows established procedures for stocking shelves, rotating merchandise, and checking for expired items
  • stocks items from cut case areas in assigned aisles or areas
  • maintains general cleanliness of shelf areas
  • provides high standards of customer service
  • faces all products in assigned areas with proper labeling and stacking
  • assists other aisles as needed including frozen and chill areas
