Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is a well-established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals by helping them secure meaningful employment through high-quality, free job training, education, and job placement services. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred
- No experience required
- Able to lift and carry 30-40 pounds
- Able to stand for long periods
- Able to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push
- Able to climb ladders
- Able to travel across various surfaces including stairs, ramps, and uneven terrain
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable attendance
- Ability to perform duties in an outdoor and warehouse environment
- Must adhere to safety practices
- Minors are not allowed to operate heavy machinery or compactors
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred, but not required

- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols
- Capable of working as part of a team
- Reliable attendance
- Ability to operate a forklift if certified according to Seattle Goodwill standards
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job including lifting, bending, standing, and reaching
Job Duties
- Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods
- Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing
- Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor
- Use cardboard compactors and identify problems
- Maintain donor tallies
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture
- Report any potential hazards or accidents
- Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Consistent and safe execution of duties associated with forklift operation when certified
- Perform other duties as assigned
