Job Requirements
- high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- warehousing certifications a plus
- ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and overnight
- capability to lift and move stock up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- adherence to all safety and operational procedures
- basic computer literacy
- strong sense of urgency and accountability
- good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- willingness to work overtime and provide shift coverage
- no fear of heights
Job Qualifications
- 3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit down forklifts and electric pallet jacks
- stable work history
- good communication skills
- ability to read, write, and understand English
- attention to detail and quality
- ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse
- basic computer skills including use of handheld RF equipment
- experience with cross-docking freight processes
- experience building and breaking down pallets with stock
Job Duties
- Assist warehouse manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse
- operate sit down forklift and/or electric pallet jacks (EPJs)
- use handheld RF equipment and computers for operational tasks
- load and unload RJW trucks, trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures
- work flexible hours including 10 to 12 hour shifts when necessary
- pick and move stock weighing from 1 to 50 pounds multiple times
- stage and load shipments correctly
- maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping
- process outbound cross-dock freight
- store stock properly in the warehouse and move products into storage racks
- pick customer orders using forklift and load trailers
- verify accuracy of shipments against paperwork
- complete all required documentation precisely
- operate forklifts following OSHA regulations and RJW safety policies including wearing seatbelts
- complete daily forklift maintenance inspections
- handle customer products properly and orderly
- check deliveries for damage and report any issues to supervisors
- report accidents and incidents immediately
- spot trailers to maintain yard organization and equipment flow
- keep dock doors and surrounding areas free of debris or snow
- perform other tasks assigned by the manager
