Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • more than three years of related experience
  • forklift certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • ability to safely handle hazardous materials
  • physical ability to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • reliable attendance and punctuality
  • presence on-site at assigned work location
  • commitment to safety standards and participation in Safety Committee
  • competency in training others

Job Qualifications

  • ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms, or documents

  • knowledge of all branch floor functions

Job Duties

  • Check for vendor accuracy, create bill of ladings (BOLs)
  • validate no damage to cargo, ensure correct labeling, perform quality checklist, sign off on load accuracy, kitting, sub-assembly
  • handle hazardous materials, packing, checking MSDS and other required paperwork
  • fill client orders safely, efficiently, and within Crane SOPs
  • ensure distribution activities comply with internal quality standards while maintaining safety
  • read and follow work orders and instructions
  • operate forklift and other warehouse equipment including high reach vehicle
  • load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand forklift or other equipment
  • load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage
  • count, weigh, and record units of materials moved on daily production sheet
  • attach identifying tags or labels to materials
  • scan freight via warehouse management system with RF equipment
  • complete required paperwork thoroughly and promptly
  • perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment
  • accurately and courteously load client merchandise
  • maintain presence on-site at assigned work location
  • participate as a member of the Safety Committee at least once per year
  • train and exhibit competency in training others
  • know all accounts and perform every floor function in the branch
  • perform other duties as assigned
