Job Requirements

  • Minimal ability to read and write
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical activities including bending, carrying, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching above shoulder level, reclining, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, throwing, turning and twisting body, walking
  • Ability to maintain near, midrange, far vision and color vision
  • Ability to handle dust, electric shock exposure occasionally and fumes or gases
  • Ability to work indoors frequently and outdoors occasionally
  • Punctual and regular attendance
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and participate in safety training

Job Qualifications

  • Prior customer service experience is a plus

Job Duties

  • Complete opening activities including door and cone placement, prepare water cooling stations, set up donation drive through, move gaylords and other materials
  • Move, sort, select and properly display merchandise, safely handle up to 70 pounds
  • Tag and hang textiles, price wares including shoes and furniture, distribute products on sales floor
  • Receive and process donated goods, direct donors and issue receipts or printed information
  • Maintain records of daily activities, donation counts and processing counts in an accurate and legible manner
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of donation area, bathrooms and store interior and exterior
  • Cover coworkers break times cooperatively and work as part of a team
  • Prepare salvage items including sorting, boxing and wrapping furniture and large items
  • Assemble boxed furniture for sales floor placement
  • Assist in pricing items following company policies
  • Complete closing activities including door and cone retrieval, clean water stations, donation drive teardown and sales floor recovery
  • Comply with Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures
  • Provide positive customer service including assisting donors and customers, interact pleasantly on sales floor
  • Ensure safe work conditions, report hazards and unsafe practices promptly
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Attend meetings and training as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
