Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is a well-established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1923 with a mission to empower people and transform lives through job training, education, and employment opportunities. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred
- No experience required
- Ability to lift 30 to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, and push
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Reliable attendance
- Ability to follow safety practices
- Forklift certification if applicable
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred but not required
- Ability to lift and carry 30-40 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing, and climbing ladders
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work safely and follow safety protocols
- Forklift certification optional but must meet eligibility requirements
- Ability to organize, sort, categorize, count, add, and subtract
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public including individuals with limited English skills
- Reliable attendance
Job Duties
- Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods
- Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing
- Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor
- Use cardboard compactors and identify problems
- Maintain donor tallies
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Demonstrate safe work practices and report any potential hazards or accidents
- Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Operate forklift safely if certified
- Perform other duties as assigned
