Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalency preferred but not required
  • No experience required
  • Open availability
  • Ability to lift and carry 30-40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing
  • Ability to climb ladders and travel across various surfaces
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including with limited English speakers
  • Maintain reliable attendance
  • Ability to perform safe work practices
  • Willingness to adhere to organizational policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 30-40 pounds
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work safely in warehouse and outdoor environments

Job Duties

  • Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods
  • Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing
  • Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor
  • Use cardboard compactors and identify problems
  • Maintain donor tallies
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture
  • Report any potential hazards or accidents
  • Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Operate forklift when certified according to Seattle Goodwill standards (if applicable)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
