Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred
- no experience required
- able to lift and carry 30-40 pounds
- able to stand for long periods
- able to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push
- able to climb ladders
- able to travel across varied surfaces
- able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- maintain reliable attendance
- if certified, operate forklifts safely according to Seattle Goodwill standards
- minors not allowed to operate heavy machinery or compactors
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred but not required
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- ability to maintain reliable attendance
- capability to lift and carry up to 30-40 pounds
- able to stand for long periods and perform frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, and pushing
- able to safely climb ladders and navigate varied surfaces including stairs, ramps, and uneven terrain
- demonstrate awareness and observation of safety practices
- ability to organize, sort, categorize, count, add, subtract
- problem-solving skills
- experience working in a warehouse or production environment is helpful but not mandatory
Job Duties
- Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods
- sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing
- provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor
- use cardboard compactors and identify problems
- maintain donor tallies
- maintain a clean work environment
- demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture
- report any potential hazards or accidents
- build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
- contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- consistently and safely execute duties associated with forklift operation when certified
- perform other duties as assigned
