Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred
- no experience required
- able to lift and carry 30-40 pounds
- developed fine motor control
- ability to stand for long periods
- frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing
- ability to climb ladders
- ability to travel across various surfaces including stairs, ramps, uneven terrain
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- reliable attendance
- minors not allowed to operate heavy machinery or compactors
- ability to follow safety protocols
- able to communicate with individuals who have limited English proficiency
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalency preferred, but not required
- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing, and climbing
- awareness of safety practices and ability to report hazards
- ability to maintain donor tallies and organize donated goods
- customer service skills
- forklift certification optional and must meet eligibility requirements
- reliable attendance
Job Duties
- Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods
- sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing
- provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor
- use cardboard compactors and identify problems
- maintain donor tallies
- maintain a clean work environment
- demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture
- report any potential hazards or accidents
- build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction
- contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- consistently and safely execute duties associated with forklift operation when certified to Seattle Goodwill standards
- perform other duties as assigned
