Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No experience required for Material Handler I
- Successful performance as Material Handler I or equivalent for Material Handler II
- Ability to operate heavy machinery preferred
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading preferred
- DOT certification preferred
- Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
- Ability to understand technical aspects of bioprocessing
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Must follow safety procedures
- Pass physical and drug screenings
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours
- Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Good ethical standards and confidentiality
- Team player with good communication
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience for Material Handler I: no experience required
- Experience for Material Handler II: successful performance as Material Handler I or equivalent experience
- Preferred experience operating heavy machinery such as skid loaders
- Preferred experience in truck and rail tank car loading and unloading
- DOT certification preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new software programs
- Understanding of bioprocessing operations
Job Duties
- Load trucks and rail cars with feed and fuel products using mechanical equipment, meters, and scales
- Assist with grain product or biomass and supply truck unloading
- Complete grading of grain products or biomass using provided training
- Operate large machinery and equipment, may require DOT certification
- Maintain a clean work area
- Enter bins following confined space procedures
- Complete HAZMAT paperwork as necessary
- Learn, maintain, and operate all grain operation processes including repair and maintenance
- Remove, install, rebuild, lubricate, and clean equipment associated with the grains process
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Work outdoors, weekends, and holidays as required
- Meet call-in requirements and work extended hours
- Assist with bioprocessing facility scale house operations and software
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior
- Foster safe behavior and environmental compliance
- Maintain a team environment and promote POET in the community
