Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating power and hand trucks or similar equipment
  • Ability to safely lift heavy materials
  • Basic computer skills including data entry
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiarity with inventory control processes
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as cranes, hoists, or semi-trucks if required

Job Duties

  • Operate power and hand trucks to transport material within assigned area
  • Direct movement of rough, semi-finished or finished material to/from production and stocking areas
  • Load and unload trailers as required
  • Routinely check equipment for proper maintenance and repair
  • Perform pick-ups and deliveries of mail, stationery orders, parcels
  • Follow established procedures to dispatch and expedite jobs and material movement
  • Arrange and maintain shop schedules
  • Dispatch jobs by handing out jobs to operators and maintaining job racks
  • Provide job information to personnel and assist in expediting jobs
  • Line up E&D and scrap tickets for reorder and rework
  • Process job reissues as required
  • Put up engine assembly kits and tool kits according to kit lists
  • Check kits for shortages and maintain stock records
  • Input required information into computer system
  • Place stock in proper location and chase stock shortages
  • Preserve parts and order small hardware supplies
  • Replenish parts or supplies in Kanban areas
  • Receive all materials, check against packing slips, and prepare receiving reports
  • Deliver items to appropriate departments
  • Prepare and expedite packaging and shipments meeting customer and government requirements
  • Maintain packaging material inventory
  • Release process documents and engineering change orders to production
  • Perform cycle counting of parts
  • Operate equipment like locomotive, crawler, or semi-truck within plant for moving engines or large parts
  • Perform other related assignments as directed
