Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in warehouse or shipping and receiving preferred
  • ability to follow safety rules and procedures
  • basic proficiency with computer inventory systems
  • physical ability to lift and carry items
  • ability to stand and move for extended periods
  • attention to detail
  • strong communication skills
  • willingness to perform various assigned duties
  • ability to work cooperatively with others

Job Qualifications

  • previous warehouse or shipping and receiving experience preferred
  • ability to read and interpret customer orders and work orders
  • basic computer skills for recording inventory data

  • physical ability to lift and move material as required

Job Duties

  • assist shipping and receiving
  • unload trucks
  • check in merchandise
  • match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to sales associates for processing
  • read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped
  • move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
  • sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
  • fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area
  • ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic
  • mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method
  • record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program
  • weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  • may be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed
  • complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments
  • prepare parcels for mailing
  • wear the proper safety equipment
  • perform other duties as assigned
