Job Duties

  • Receives inspects and verifies quantities of delivered items against packing slips or purchase orders
  • Accepts or rejects deliveries
  • Shelves and stores received items
  • Processes inventory documentation including receiving reports stock requisitions and returns
  • Enters data into computerized inventory systems and checks back orders
  • Counts inventory items manually or with portable handheld devices
  • Checks for damaged or expired inventory and disposes of it according to departmental policies
  • Restocks shelves from bulk stock ensuring correct labeling and stock rotation
  • Records consumption data and inventory levels and informs supervisors of items not in demand
  • Files completed requisitions
  • Issues and distributes supplies within the facility
  • Assists in packaging and shipping returned goods to vendors
  • Maintains work area cleanliness and safety by breaking down and discarding boxes and organizing storage areas
