Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods
  • good communication and customer service skills
  • ability to follow safety policies and procedures
  • ability to operate assigned equipment safely
  • willingness to attend monthly safety meetings
  • drug and alcohol screening clearance
  • ability to operate a phone and maintain communication
  • reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Provide exemplary customer service to GIREs donors, customers, clients and staff
  • accept and sort donations into appropriate bins
  • responsible for maintaining daily donor counts
  • administer receipts to GIRE donors
  • adhere to all safety policies and procedures including monthly safety meetings
  • notify supervisor when supplies or equipment repair is needed
  • daily call ins to CDC Manager or CDC MH 2 at CDC sites
  • keep CDC assigned cell phone charged and on during business hours
  • complete all required daily inspection logs in warehouse environment
  • assist with loading and unloading GIRE trucks
  • removal of trash as needed
  • support GIRE Outlet Center by filling and rotating tables with donations for sales floor and recycling into salvage streams
  • operate heavy machinery such as tipper, compactor and baler
  • process eWaste and hazardous materials appropriately
  • potential to obtain GIRE white vest beginner forklift certification for qualifying individuals
