Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to do simple mathematics
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, carry and reach overhead
- Capability to work in hot or cold kitchen environments for extended periods
- Ability to stand for long periods during food preparation
- Capacity to lift moderately heavy food cases
- Ability to use floor cleaning equipment
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Capability to safely handle and transfer hot food pans
- Willingness to attend in-service training and comply with dress code
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

- Ability to organize, file and retrieve information as needed
- Ability to complete production records
- Ability to read and interpret recipes and instructions
- Ability to use equipment timers and controls
- Ability to use ingredient scaling equipment
- Capability to work in hot, cold or humid kitchen environments
- Capability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift moderately heavy cases of food
- Ability to use floor cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation standards
- Ability to read chemical product sheets and follow safety procedures
- Ability to transfer hot food pans safely
- Ability to use various food preparation equipment according to safety guidelines
- Ability to use step ladder for cleaning kitchen ventilation system
- Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble kitchen equipment
Job Duties
- Performs assigned duties related to the preparation of school meals such as setting up, cooking, cleaning, washing, moping and maintaining inventory
- Becomes skilled in the use of all equipment normally used in work assignments
- Adheres to work schedules and work assignments
- Attends work on a regular basis and on time
- Reports work-related injuries as required
- Completes records as specified
- Adheres to dress code requirements
- Practices acceptable health habits and safe work habits which are in keeping with current health guidelines
- Participates in in-service training opportunities offered by the local school and school systems
- Maintains a positive, friendly attitude in all job relationships
- Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
- Performs essential job duties with or without a reasonable accommodation
