Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Comply with certification requirements such as Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR & First Aid
  • Prepare schedules and wage progress reports for all banquet employees
  • Prepare payroll and tip distribution for the Banquet department
  • Assist in setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions
  • Coordinate banquet food and beverage requirements with relevant departments
  • Keep kitchen informed of accurate counts for plating
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate banquet personnel with Food & Beverage Manager assistance
  • Review menu/service with Catering Manager and Food Production Manager/Assistant
  • Maintain up-to-date details on banquet functions and communicate to supervisors
  • Provide ongoing training for captains/hourly employees to uphold service standards
  • Respond to guest requests as needed
  • Prepare banquet checks, obtain guest signatures and inform clients of payment procedures
  • Notify Banquets Director or F&B Manager about materials and equipment needs
  • Requisition liquor and supplies for banquet bars
  • Ensure safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of service areas
  • Implement loss prevention programs among service employees
  • Attend weekly Food & Beverage meetings for interdepartmental communication
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage
  • Conduct menu classes for staff development
  • Attend daily Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings
  • Foster professional relationships and open communication
  • Ensure pre-meal meetings are conducted for all functions
  • Control and audit alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Review banquet staff hours for payroll and submit timely to accounting
  • Supervise banquet captains/supervisors and observe hourly service personnel performance
  • Assist Banquets Director and Catering Manager with special promotions or changes
  • Maintain and control all service equipment, write service requests as necessary
  • Cross-train as a manager/supervisor in other Food & Beverage outlets
  • Assist audio/visual company as necessary
  • Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system
  • Correct hazards and notify General Manager or Banquets Director
  • Submit orders for supplies to General Manager or Banquets Director and maintain inventory
  • Handle lost and found items according to standards
  • Perform other duties as requested by Banquets Director or General Manager
  • Access back of house areas and sensitive information as needed
  • Handle cash, prepare and deposit cash drops, secure and balance bank
  • Interact with guests and colleagues, sometimes unsupervised
  • Control access to sensitive hotel premises including master keys and secured files
