Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of high volume culinary or hospitality experience
  • Current food handler's card and certification as required by federal, state or local law
  • Knowledge of food and restaurant service skills encompassing all phases of food production and service including storage, rotation, preparation, recipe adherence, plate presentation, and timing standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to perform other duties necessary to support the business
  • Ability to comply with safety and sanitation regulations
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years of experience in high-volume culinary or hospitality settings
  • Current food handler's card and any other certifications mandated by law
  • Strong knowledge of food and restaurant service skills including food production, storage, recipe adherence, presentation, and timing standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey operational information
  • Proven track record of increasing responsibilities and experience in culinary roles

Job Duties

  • Create a relaxed destination by promoting a learning and training environment for kitchen staff through hands-on teaching of proper cooking techniques, knife skills, and time management
  • Ensure timely execution of Expo Station, opening and closing duties according to company guidelines while maintaining extensive knowledge of all food menus, recipes, ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation
  • Facilitate training programs and deliver constructive performance feedback to kitchen teammates while fostering open and authentic communication with the broader restaurant team
  • Monitor team performance, enforce safety and sanitation programs in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and ensure learned skills are applied on the job through implementation of company training programs
  • Co-manage team meetings alongside Front of House management and oversee kitchen expenses to maintain budgetary compliance
  • Support the team by performing additional duties as required to uphold business operations
  • Advocate for a culture of aloha fun, teamwork, and continual improvement within the kitchen and restaurant environment
