Job Requirements

  • Lift and or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling required frequently
  • Routine standing for duration of shift
  • Safely maneuver hand carts, blenders, knives, slices, wine keys, and other work tools
  • Scheduled shifts determined by business needs

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in culinary leadership or kitchen management
  • Knowledge of proper cooking techniques and knife skills
  • Strong communication and team-building skills
  • Ability to manage staffing and scheduling
  • Familiarity with food cost control and kitchen financial management
  • Ability to develop menus and specials
  • Experience in training and performance management
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Develop and promote a nurturing learning environment for all restaurant team members focusing on cooking techniques, knife skills, time management, and accountability
  • Maintain appropriate staff levels based on projected sales and business needs
  • Cultivate open and authentic dialogue with restaurant team, senior management, and home office partners
  • Practice proactive performance management in partnership with General Manager and HR to ensure policy adherence
  • Stay current with food trends through research and vendor partnerships
  • Assist Executive Chef with daily, weekly, and monthly specials and menu development
  • Minimize employee turnover by hiring qualified personnel, orienting new employees, setting performance expectations, training, coaching, and providing feedback
  • Facilitate implementation of company learning and training programs and monitor on-the-job skill transfer
  • Achieve or exceed kitchen financial expectations including food cost, efficiencies, labor costs, and direct kitchen expenses
