Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of 3 years of food and beverage experience with leadership preferred
  • Current food handler's card
  • Alcohol service certification as required by law
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel frequently
  • Ability to climb ladders occasionally
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Willingness to travel for training and assistance at other locations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Generally 3 years of food and beverage experience with some leadership experience preferred
  • Must have current food handler's card
  • Alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law
  • Familiarity with Open Table reservation system preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Knowledge of hospitality standards and food safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Assist in creating a learning and nurturing environment for team members that promotes sales and service success and internal career growth
  • Assist the Marlin Bar Manager in developing and implementing strategies to increase qualified applicants including proactive recruiting
  • Maintain appropriate staff levels
  • Hire qualified people and effectively orient, train, coach, and provide constructive performance feedback
  • Facilitate implementation of company training programs and monitor performance to ensure transfer of learned skills on-the-job
  • Practice proactive performance management in partnership with Regional Manager and HR to ensure adherence to employment policies
  • Assist employees with career development strategies to improve retention and build bench strength
  • Manage individual restaurant expenses ensuring budgetary compliance
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures
  • Develop and streamline Marlin Bar processes in partnership with the Marlin Bar Manager
  • Communicate the Tommy Bahama lifestyle through brand execution both visual and experiential
  • Ensure employee appearance appropriately reflects brand image
  • Manage upkeep of kitchen, bar, and Marlin Bar exterior in partnership with the Marlin Bar Manager and Store Manager
  • Embrace, articulate, and reflect on the Tommy Bahama culture and values
  • Demonstrate Tommy Bahama core values in all business decisions and actions
  • Commit to maintaining the culture through business evolution
  • Be receptive to feedback and coaching
  • Possess complete knowledge and enforcement of food and beverage menus including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation
  • Possess complete knowledge and enforcement of all hospitality standards
  • Interact with guests and cultivate authentic relationships in the community
  • Practice proper cash handling and operation of point-of-sale system
  • Be proficient in food handling, safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
