Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Generally 3 years of food and beverage experience with some leadership experience preferred
  • Food handler's card and alcohol service certification required
  • Familiarity with Open Table reservation systems preferred
  • Ability to work schedule shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling frequently
  • Climbing ladders occasionally
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours routinely
  • Possible travel for training and assisting other locations
  • Commitment to Tommy Bahama's culture and values

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

Job Duties

  • Assist in creating a learning and nurturing environment for all Marlin Bar team members that promotes sales and service success and internal career growth
  • Assist the Marlin Bar Manager to develop and implement strategies to increase qualified applicants including proactively recruiting
  • Maintain appropriate staff levels
  • Hire qualified people and effectively orient new employees
  • Set clear performance expectations
  • Train, coach, and give constructive performance feedback
  • Facilitate implementation of company learning and training programs and monitor performance
  • Practice proactive performance management in partnership with the Regional Manager and HR
  • Assist employees with career development strategies to improve retention
  • Manage individual restaurant expenses ensuring budgetary compliance
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures
  • Develop and streamline Marlin Bar processes
  • Communicate the Tommy Bahama lifestyle through brand execution
  • Ensure employee appearance reflects the Tommy Bahama brand image
  • Manage upkeep of kitchen, bar, and Marlin Bar exterior
  • Embrace and reflect the Tommy Bahama culture
  • Influence the team to embrace Tommy Bahama values
  • Demonstrate core values in business decisions and actions
  • Commit to maintain the culture through business evolution
  • Be receptive to feedback and coaching
  • Possess complete knowledge and enforcement of food and beverage menus
