Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Generally 3 years of food and beverage experience with some leadership experience preferred
  • Must have current food handler's card and alcohol service certification as required by federal, state, or local law
  • Familiarity with Open Table reservation systems preferred
  • Ability to work schedule shifts determined by business needs including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office

Job Duties

  • Assist in creating a learning and nurturing environment for all Marlin Bar team members that promotes sales and service success and internal career growth
  • Assist Marlin Bar manager to develop and implement strategies to increase qualified applicants including proactive recruiting
  • Maintain appropriate staff levels
  • Hire qualified people and effectively orient new employees while setting clear performance expectations and providing training, coaching, and constructive feedback
  • Facilitate implementation of company learning and training programs and monitor performance to ensure transfer of learned skills
  • Practice proactive performance management with regional manager and HR to ensure adherence to policies
  • Assist employees with career development strategies to improve retention and build bench strength
  • Manage individual restaurant expenses ensuring budgetary compliance
  • Ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures
  • Develop and streamline Marlin Bar processes
  • Communicate the Tommy Bahama lifestyle through brand execution visually and experientially
  • Ensure employee appearance reflects Tommy Bahama brand image
  • Manage upkeep of kitchen, bar, and Marlin Bar exterior
  • Embrace, articulate, and reflect on the Tommy Bahama culture and values
  • Demonstrate Tommy Bahama core values in all business decisions and actions
  • Maintain culture through business evolution and be receptive to feedback and coaching
  • Possess complete knowledge and enforcement of all food and beverage menus including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation
  • Possess complete knowledge, application, and enforcement of hospitality standards
  • Interact with guests and cultivate authentic community relationships
  • Practice proper cash handling and operation of point-of-sale system
  • Be proficient in food handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
