Job Requirements

  • Must meet the minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages
  • high school diploma or GED
  • generally can have less than one year of food and beverage experience in a restaurant
  • prior guest service experience
  • must have current food handler's card and alcohol service certification as required by federal, state, and local law
  • must have an aptitude and enthusiasm to learn about all Tommy Bahama products available to our guest
  • lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
  • bending/stooping/kneeling required frequently
  • climbing ladders occasionally
  • routine standing for duration of shift up to 8 hours
  • possible travel for training and assisting at other Tommy Bahama locations
  • ability to work varied hours and days including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • prior guest service experience
  • current food handler's card
  • alcohol service certification as required by federal, state, and local law
  • ability to learn about all Tommy Bahama products available to guests
  • knowledge of food and beverage menus
  • knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • hospitality standards understanding

Job Duties

  • Create a relaxed destination - participate in a team environment that promotes sales and service success
  • learn how to speak with the guest about our products that include food and beverage as well as retail offerings
  • set the course - commit to maintain the culture through the evolution of the business
  • actively participate in all location meetings and training sessions and apply learned skills on the job
  • possess knowledge of all food and beverage menus
  • possess knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • build the perfect oasis - assist bartenders with food and drink delivery to guests
  • possess complete knowledge of all hospitality standards
  • clearing and setting tables according to standards
  • maintain proper stock levels including inventory control and ordering of perishables and spirits according to projected business
  • properly care for and store all product
  • maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for all team members and guests
