Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, media production or related field
- Two years full-time or part-time equivalent professional experience in marketing, public relations, or content development role
- One year full-time or part-time equivalent supervisory experience
- Copyediting test required if interviewed
- Experience optimizing digital content for accessibility preferred
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro preferred
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Driver's license
- Successful completion of background check including criminal records check

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, media production or related field
- Two years full-time or part-time equivalent professional experience in marketing, public relations, or content development role
- One year full-time or part-time equivalent supervisory experience
- Knowledge of principles of marketing, communications, and digital content strategy
- Advanced knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress and Craft
- Ability to supervise and evaluate student assistants
- Knowledge of social media management software such as Iconosquare, Hootsuite, or Buffer preferred
- Ability to consult on social media planning and content strategy
- Ability to provide artistic direction and training for student assistants
- Knowledge of digital media production practices and techniques
- Ability to develop effective working relationships
- Ability to work under pressure meeting competing deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of graphic design production principles preferred
Job Duties
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate marketing student assistants
- Assist in hiring selections for other department team members as needed
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and oversee team content calendar
- Act as project manager to satisfy and meet all content-specific deadlines as outlined on team calendar
- Assist with website maintenance, including page copy, calendar listings, document publication
- Assist with team-wide project management and ensure projects meet critical milestones
- Assist in the maintenance and enforcement of digital content policies, including social media policy
- Moderate all channels for messages, comments, and feedback from audiences
- Capture and analyze social metrics and implement changes as needed
- Report findings biannually to marketing team and stakeholders
- Serve as copy editor for all writing including announcements, social media copy, and blog content
- Proofread marketing student-generated content for correctness and clarity
- Work with marketing team to develop compelling stories and content for campus community
- Evaluate media types for accessibility standards
- Coordinate with design team to produce digital assets for promotions
- Meet with clients to suggest and develop marketing concepts
- Represent the Associated Students with campus, public, and other organizations
- Perform other duties as assigned
