Job Requirements

  • Valid driver license free of serious or frequent traffic violations
  • Subject to a ten year background check for security clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport security badge as a condition of employment
  • Ability to lift carry push and pull objects up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to sit for extended periods stand and walk frequently and occasionally stoop kneel bend lift carry and reach
  • Extensive wrist and hand movements required for frequent keyboarding and use of office equipment
  • Ability to perform close work to read and use computer
  • Ability to continuously exchange information through listening and talking with customers coworkers representatives of community organizations and other individuals
  • Ability to be mobile community wide for appropriate business needs
  • Be of good moral character and able to adhere to professional ethical standards of conduct as a public employee working in the public administration and operation of airports

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism marketing communications or related field
  • 1-3 years of related marketing communications and or customer relations experience
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered in meeting the minimum requirements for this position
  • Well-rounded communications professional with strategic storytelling experience
  • Strong writing and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with public-sector communications customer relations and airport operations preferred
  • Proficiency in graphic design and editing software including Adobe Creative Suite Adobe Photoshop and Canva
  • Knowledge of website design and content management
  • Knowledge of social media platform development and management
  • Basic photography and design principles
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • High level of organization and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Professional poise and personal bearing as a public employee

Job Duties

  • Produce and design graphics for both digital and print materials including flyers billboards brochures web content digital ads and social media graphics
  • Write and edit materials for diverse channels and audiences including social media posts website posts and media briefs
  • Respond to social media posts and answer requests for information advising supervisor and other departments of concerns and questions brought by the public
  • Identify recommend and develop marketing tactics to support Airport communications needs and goals
  • Coordinate and facilitate outreach efforts including educational tours and external community engagement opportunities
  • Support the planning and implementation of events ranging from large-scale community events to smaller in-terminal activities
  • Track analyze and provide reports on performance metrics for various communications channels
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of internal and external customers working collaboratively with other Airport departments external stakeholders and community partners on projects events and communication needs
  • Positively represent the Airport at various community events networking opportunities and industry conferences
  • Perform other duties as assigned
