Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in marina or related management role
- Valid boating or captain certification preferred
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Effective communication abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical capability to perform manual labor and maintenance tasks
- Understanding of safety protocols and first aid certifications (CPR, first aid, USCG certification) preferred
- Must comply with company values and culture
- Valid driver’s license
Job Qualifications
- Prior marina management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of boats and marina operations
- Knowledge of state laws pertaining to the sale and service of alcoholic beverages
- Ability to comply with health and wellness regulations
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities
- Capability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions independently
- Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs
- Experience in staff recruitment, training, and performance management
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple operational areas including valet, maintenance, and office functions
Job Duties
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the boat valet service
- Managing a team of dockhands including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Coordinating the parking, launching, and retrieval of boats ensuring proper handling and care
- Maintaining accurate records of boat inventory and member information
- Implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures
- Developing and delivering training programs for marina staff
- Resolving customer complaints and providing excellent service
- Scheduling routine maintenance and troubleshooting boat engine problems
- Conducting boat safety inspections and managing repair schedules
- Assisting with scheduling and operations of shuttle boats and captains
- Collaborating with the Outdoor Pursuits office to manage scheduling, charging, and programming of marina activities
- Overseeing seasonal set-up, breakdown, and storage of beach equipment
- Upholding club policies to ensure outstanding member and guest experiences
- Fostering positive working relationships and teamwork among staff
- Organizing recruitment plans and participating in employee training and certification
- Maintaining cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere throughout the marina and beach
- Managing billing and purchasing of boat-related supplies
