Job Requirements
- Previous culinary experience of at least one year in a similar volume restaurant or banquet kitchen
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Willingness to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed
- Ability to perform safe knife skills and basic kitchen equipment handling
- Knowledge of stock, soup, sauce or dressing making and meat and fish fabrication preferred
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor during crises or uncertainty
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily

Job Qualifications
- At least one year of culinary experience in a similar volume restaurant or banquet kitchen
- Ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised

- Proficiency in safe knife skills and basic kitchen equipment handling including ovens, fryers, mixers, slicers, range-tops, blenders, processors and char broilers
- Experience in stock, soup, sauce or dressing making, basic meat and fish fabrication preferred
- Ability to maintain calm and professionalism under pressure
- Capable of performing essential duties satisfactorily
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
Job Duties
- Use a variety of cooking methods including poaching, braising, charbroiling, searing and frying
- Display classical and contemporary presentations of meats and vegetables
- Maintain strong organization and high standards for quality and cleanliness
- Follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products and grains including proper storage
- Apply knowledge of seasonings and handle common food allergens and substitutes
- Attend departmental meetings and daily rehearsals, suggesting improvements
- Follow company policies and standard operating procedures
- Actively assist guests and provide exceptional guest service
- Ensure quality and service level exceed guest expectations and company standards
- Complete daily responsibilities and cleaning task lists
- Accept or reject ingredients based on quality or quantity
- Minimize product waste
- Follow recipes and presentation techniques under supervision
- Prepare and break down cooking stations including cleaning and food storage
- Label and date foods and complete checklists and logs
- Maintain sanitary service areas and properly use and clean kitchen equipment
- Keep uniform and personal appearance clean and presentable
- Adhere to safety protocols in food handling and service
- Take full responsibility for quality and presentation of food served
- Follow environmental and recycling policies
- Maintain excellent attendance and comply with attendance standards
- Report product shortages and equipment repairs
- Adhere to JW Service Notes, Service Harmonies and Core Values
- Collaborate with staff while maintaining a team-focused attitude
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
