Job Requirements
- Ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs
- Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
- Maintain a professional appearance in a clean uniform
- Willingness to work on the restaurant floor during operating hours
- Eligible and willing to participate in the tip pool with wine captains and runners
Job Qualifications
- Possess extensive knowledge of wine and ability to pair wines with menu items
- Demonstrate professional and confident presentation skills
- Naturally educate guests and exhibit expertise without being sales-focused
- Have a sensitive palate and extraordinary sense of smell
- React promptly to complaints and unusual service situations prioritizing guest needs
- Be team oriented and willing to support service captains on the floor
Job Duties
- Work with the National Director of Wine & Beverage to maintain wine program standards appropriate for the property and region
- Manage relationships with suppliers and distributors for wine allocations, rarities, and current releases
- Follow budgets and guidelines set by the National Director of Wine & Beverage for all wine purchases
- Utilize master spreadsheets to accurately track wines, vintages, and pricing
- Maintain the vision, accuracy, and cleanliness of the wine lists including updates, pricing changes, and formatting
- Communicate wine list and Micros system needs and changes to management
- Assist with wine selections for private events clients
- Participate in monthly inventory and reconciliation of all wine
- Support and participate in monthly wine education and weekly wine shipment organization
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all wine locations, tracking flawed bottles
- Shadow and train new employees as determined by leadership
- Lead by example following beverage directions and service standards
