Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or similar field
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or test engineering
  • experienced in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology
  • proficient with electro-mechanical manufacturing, drawings, and Bill of Materials
  • skilled in Microsoft Office, MiniTab, Oracle, Agile, and CAD software
  • ability to travel up to 30%
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • ability to work in office and manufacturing environments
  • able to sit and stand for long periods
  • excellent communication and analytical skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related field
  • 2-5 years experience in manufacturing or engineering in aerospace, automotive, or commercial industries
  • experienced in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • knowledge of electro-mechanical manufacturing, drawings, procedures and Bill of Materials
  • proficient in Microsoft Office, MiniTab, Oracle, Agile, and CAD programs
  • occasional travel up to 30%
  • experience with sheet metal fabrication, plastics, composite layups, PCB assembly, mechanical assembly, calibration and testing processes
  • strong organizational, communication, time management, conflict management skills
  • skilled in root cause analysis
  • ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • demonstrates initiative and accountability
  • effective teamwork and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Creates equipment specifications and documentation for assembly and test equipment
  • helps implement Lean Manufacturing principles and applies Six Sigma methodology
  • generates Value Stream Maps to reduce cycle time and waste
  • works on manufacturing strategies and capacity models
  • generates and reviews work instructions and assembly procedures
  • estimates costs for tooling and leads make-buy analysis
  • performs design for manufacturing, cost, and reliability analysis
  • collaborates with suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • analyzes problems requiring review of various factors
  • performs other duties as assigned
