The Arkansas Travelers are a professional Double-A minor league baseball team affiliated with the Seattle Mariners. Located at Dickey-Stephens Park, the Travelers provide top-tier baseball entertainment to the central Arkansas community while serving as a developmental team for future Mariners stars. Job Requirements

  • 2 - 4 years of related experience with knowledge of local and/or regional markets, event or venue operations, sales or marketing in the event industry
  • bachelor's degree in business, facility/hospitality/sport management or similar
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • outstanding computer skills including MS Office products
  • ability to work holidays, evenings and weekends
  • ability to learn video board and sound related equipment and basic functions

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, facility, hospitality, or sport management or similar
  • 2 - 4 years of related experience in event or venue operations, sales or marketing
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • outstanding computer skills including proficiency with MS Office
  • ability to learn video board and sound equipment functions
  • strong relationship-building aptitude
  • proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Act as the primary on-site contact for all non-baseball events at Dickey-Stephens Park
  • work with all events from beginning to end including walk throughs, rate and contract negotiations, pre-event planning, food and beverage planning, staffing, load-in/out, event execution and post-event settlement
  • lead internal and external meetings including walkthroughs, client tours, menu reviews, and staff meetings
  • organize and schedule staffing and third-party vendors for event execution
  • cultivate strong working relationships across departments including operations, grounds, food and beverage, marketing and sales
  • proactively solicit new business through sales calls, presentations, trade shows and client prospecting to exceed revenue goals
  • collaborate with marketing to create fan engagement initiatives and new business opportunities
  • generate and maintain leads within event planning and promotion communities
  • implement marketing plans for stadium events including website, social media and print materials
  • provide exceptional customer service to clients before, during and after events
  • prepare post-event notes and detailed reports for management including proformas, revenue reports, and profit and loss statements
  • ensure all event payments and invoice tracking are completed
  • develop catering menus with concessionaire
  • build custom layouts for client events based on requirements and budgets
  • foster relationships with local tourism partners to expand event opportunities
  • secure corporate partnerships and sponsorships to meet annual revenue goals
  • maintain partnerships and track performance to drive renewals and partner value
  • perform other duties such as tarp pulls and game day responsibilities as assigned
