Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 8 years of aviation or air medical experience
- At least 2,500 flight hours
- Minimum 2 years of Part 135 operational experience
- Hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Airplane or Rotorcraft)
- Possess a valid FAA Second Class Medical
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with 24/7 availability
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to travel regularly within the region
- Compliance with DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Eight to ten years related experience and/or training in aviation and air medical transports
- Minimum of 2,500 flight hours
- Two years of experience in a Part 135 operation
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions consistent with job functions
- Ability to prepare written reports, correspondence, and presentations to senior leadership
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Maintains objectivity in assessing operations, maintenance, and personnel
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Airplane or Rotorcraft)
- Possess FAA Second Class Medical
Job Duties
- Ensure all operations within region are compliant with regulations, operations specifications and General Operations Manual
- Participate as a member of the management team to promote a successful operation
- Research and report on budget variances
- Ensure completion of aviation management portions of Base Startup, Closure and Movement Manual
- Distribute and revise Operations Manual and Operations Specifications as required
- Manage integration of aircraft and pilot availability
- Delegate aviation field logistical support to Area Manager
- Attend fleet status teleconferences
- Coordinate pilot training
- Work with Regional Safety Director on safety issues and assist in aviation mishap investigations
- Submit reporting on flight personnel to Regional Aviation Director
- Monitor aviation personnel compliance with policies
- Ensure use of 411 system by pilots
- Correct audit deficiencies and compliance issues
- Coordinate medical crewmember training and monitor Computer Training System compliance
- Conduct Air Medical Resource Management training
- Ensure in-service training before aircraft return to service
- Conduct or coordinate ferry and MOC flights
- Monitor and respond to Accidental, Incident, Damage, Malfunction, Operations Report submissions
- Coordinate with Maintenance Director on mechanical issues
- Manage GPS updates for aircraft
- Act as on-scene representative for accidents/incidents
- Educate pilots on Safety Management System and Aviation Safety Action Program
- Maintain flexible schedule and availability 24/7
- Perform other duties as assigned
