Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university
  • 5 years of experience in the food and beverage industry
  • Experience-based knowledge of food manufacturing focusing on cooked proteins, sauces, seasonings, bakery and tortilla products
  • Ability to create and interpret technical specifications
  • Ability to manage commercialization trials and vendor relations
  • Knowledge of service restaurant operations
  • Project management training, Servsafe, and Culinology certification preferred
  • Experience working back-of-house in restaurants
  • Willingness to travel to vendor facilities
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Self-starter with critical thinking ability
  • Passionate about food quality and teamwork

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a 4-year college or university
  • Degree in Food Science or a related field
  • Culinary experience is a plus
  • 5 years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry
  • Experience-based knowledge of food manufacturing with emphasis on commercialized processes for cooked proteins including sous vide, frying/searing, marination
  • Experience with kettle-cooked sauces and fresh salsas
  • Experience with seasonings including blending and packing
  • Experience with linear and sheeted bakery and tortilla products
  • Ability to create technical specifications for process controls, intrinsic properties, and organoleptic properties to deliver consistency and repeatability
  • Ability to manage commercialization trials at vendor partners with clear success criteria and detailed reporting
  • Knowledge of service restaurants and related support needs
  • Project management training preferred
  • Servsafe and Culinology certification preferred
  • Experience working back-of-house in restaurants
  • Experience traveling to vendor facilities
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Self-starter with data-driven and critical thinking skills

Job Duties

  • Manage product development projects from validated concept to successful launch with post-launch support as needed
  • Manage the commercialization of new menu innovation and limited-time offer components including reviewing formulations for brand compliance and feasibility
  • Design and attend manufacturing trials
  • Evaluate samples from benchtop through full production to match culinary gold standards
  • Write, review, and edit finished product process specifications
  • Support post-launch consistency and optimization efforts
  • Support business continuity efforts for raw materials and components
  • Manage the commercialization of new limited-time offer vendors to support growing network demands
  • Teach and taste Chipotle's Food With Integrity mission, including conducting restaurant visits and food demonstrations, delivering strategic feedback, and enhancing knowledge of internal and external teams
  • Partner with culinary chefs to drive innovation sessions including internal showcases and external presentations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Supply Chain, Food Safety Quality Assurance, Training, and Consumer Insight teams
  • Co-manage the culinary share drive with the team
