Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Minimum 1 year of special event programming experience
- Supervisory experience with staff or students
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work non-traditional hours
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software
- Required American Red Cross CPR instructor certification or ability to obtain within 3 months
- Preferred American Red Cross Lifeguard or Lifeguard Instructor certification
Job Qualifications
- Relevant bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 1 year experience with special event programming
- Supervisory experience of staff and/or students
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work non-traditional work weeks
- Ability to work in a high-tempo work environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and membership/facility management software
- Preferred experience in aquatics program environment including swim meet management and knowledge of Colorado Timing equipment or Hy-Tek Swim Meet Management software
- American Red Cross CPR instructor certification or ability to obtain within 3 months
Job Duties
- Coordinate scheduling of recreational facility spaces for campus organizations, student groups, and community organizations including Ocasek Natatorium for swimming and diving events, Student Recreation & Wellness Center, and Buchtel Field
- Assist fellow SRWS Program Area Managers with scheduling internal program space
- Create contractual agreements for facility rentals, arrange set-up and tear-down responsibilities, supervise rentals, manage cleaning and payments, and ensure adherence to safety standards
- Assist in management of daily operations of SRWC, ONAT, and Buchtel Field
- Develop training plans for facility operations staff in Aquatics Program, Informal Recreation Program, and Fitness & Wellness Program
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff in Aquatics and Informal Recreation Programs
- Manage Aquatics Programs including American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program, swim lessons, marketing and promotion of events, evaluation of outcomes, and participant communications
- Coordinate with internal and external personnel to maintain cleanliness and safety standards of facilities and equipment
