Job Requirements
- College degree or appropriate combination of education and experience
- Previous volunteer program coordination experience preferred
- Must be goal oriented, highly motivated, and able to multi-task
- Must possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Effective training and presentation skills required
- Basic proficiency with technology including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and related devices
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be able to work onsite 40 hours per week with flexibility for evenings and weekends
- Preferred current valid driver’s license with no major traffic violations in last three years with pre-employment and annual MVR checks
- Must be First Aid/CPR certified or willing to be trained and certified
- Must be Mandated Reporter certified or willing to be trained and certified
- Must be willing to complete TB test annually if needed

Job Duties
- Oversee all aspects of the Zoo’s Volunteer Services including volunteer staff, adult volunteer program, teen volunteer program, and paid internship program
- Coordinate volunteer and internship program development including long-term planning, budget management, marketing and recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, disciplinary actions, retention, recognition, special event recruitment, supply management, online database maintenance, and volunteer communications
- Monitor, distribute, evaluate, and update Volunteer Services policies, procedures, SOPs, job descriptions, and partnerships
- Build and maintain community partnerships to enhance volunteer and internship awareness and recruitment
- Build and maintain local and association-wide networking to share management techniques and stay updated on volunteer best practices
- Oversee hiring, supervision, training, evaluation, and morale of full-time, part-time, and seasonal Volunteer team members
- Handle administrative paperwork as directed and perform other duties as assigned
