Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a relevant field preferred
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or non-profit fundraising
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficient in digital marketing
  • Experience with CRM or donor database systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Willingness to work some evenings, weekends and holidays as required for museum activities
  • Able to perform physical activities associated with event setup, including lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Must have close visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate office equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or relevant field preferred
  • Additional relevant education and/or training a plus
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in Marketing & Communications, Public Relations and/or non-profit fundraising
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, team-oriented environment
  • Adept at using and learning software systems and digital tools
  • Proficient in digital marketing
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to learn quickly to work with CRM/donor database systems
  • comfort with managing data and segmentation desired
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with event planning and community partnerships is beneficial

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute annual marketing and communications plans to build visibility and awareness of the Museum, promote exhibitions, events, and programs across digital, print, and media channels
  • Develop and manage the Museum’s brand identity, collaborating with staff to create a coherent, consistent approach and to make the Museum known in the community and beyond
  • Oversee and manage website, e-newsletters, social media, press releases, and promotional materials
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets and manage communication strategies to secure coverage, earned media and to create buzz
  • Serve as liaison with City and County tourism agencies, as well as other potential partners in promoting visitation to the museum and the region
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget to ensure effective allocation of resources
  • Leverage appropriate analytic tools to analyze and report on performance metrics and guide strategy
  • Work with the Executive Director, contract development consultant, staff and Board of Directors to develop and implement annual and long-term fundraising strategies to support operational and programmatic goals, and financial health of the organization
  • Support and help manage individual giving programs, including donor cultivation, stewardship, and annual appeals
  • Lead membership development and engagement initiatives to grow membership and retain members, and to build a pipeline of membership and donors
  • Plan and execute fundraising and donor events in collaboration with staff and Board
  • Oversee and manage the growth and maintenance of accurate donor and membership records in the Museum’s CRM system
  • Oversee analysis and reporting on performance metrics to guide strategy
