Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of catering and/or event sales experience
  • Experience in operations or event planning management preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
  • Proven leadership skills including team building and partnership fostering
  • Strong problem solving and decision making capabilities
  • Financial management and budgeting experience
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand extended periods and lift 35 lbs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Preferred experience in off-site catering, hotel, or cultural attraction venues
  • Knowledge of Tripleseat software is a plus
  • Open to all educational backgrounds
  • Must be 18 years or older

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement strategies to sell venue and catering services
  • Analyze market to identify new revenue opportunities
  • Prospect and secure new business through cold calling and networking
  • Conduct site tours and menu tastings
  • Solicit, negotiate, and secure signed event agreements
  • Plan and upsell event functions including space, equipment, menus, and decorations
  • Respond promptly to client requests to ensure satisfaction
  • Serve as primary client contact throughout sales and planning
  • Prepare and manage venue contracts, banquet event orders, and diagrams
  • Maintain strong relationships with venue departments and clients
  • Conduct post-event follow-ups to encourage repeat business
  • Maintain vendor communications, pricing, and compliance
  • Develop detailed event plans including timelines and floorplans
  • Coordinate with catering operations and culinary teams for event execution
  • Ensure compliance with legal and company policies
  • Collect and process payments and manage financial records
  • Analyze sales data and report trends
  • Promote inclusivity and sustainability within the department
  • Lead community engagement and conservation efforts
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary
