Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 5 years experience in event planning or related field
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stressful situations
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally and lead a team
- Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing event logistics
- Proficiency in budget preparation and management
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in event management marketing communications or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in event planning or philanthropic event management
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex events and teams
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement strategic event plans
- Experience with budgeting and financial management
- Strong problem solving critical thinking and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Leads the overall strategy and standards for philanthropic event engagement supporting philanthropic stewardship and alumni engagement initiatives
- Oversees all aspects of events including vendor contract negotiation site reviews venue selection planning logistics staffing coordination and budget management
- Collaborates with executive leadership faculty major gift officers corporate and annual giving and stewardship teams committee chairs communication consultants and creative services to align events with institutional fundraising and brand strategies
- Develops best practices and corporate sponsorship benefit packages and delivers these benefits to event sponsors
- Prepares and manages event budgets ensuring financial goals are met and expenses stay within budget parameters
- Leads event strategy focusing on experience operational planning communications marketing and event promotions
- Creates and promotes protocols for professional standards and event production to uphold MCW's image and reputation
