Job Requirements
- Associate's degree
- 5 years of experience in the food service or hospitality industry
- 2 years supervisory experience
- Valid Texas driver license
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to manage inventory and kitchen operations
- Effective leadership and communication skills
- Capacity to train and supervise staff
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends
- Physical ability to move items up to 25 pounds and operate kitchen equipment
- Must comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Willingness to travel to multiple campus locations
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the food service or hospitality industry
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Culinary arts teaching experience preferred
- Valid Texas driver license
- ServSafe certification
- Knowledge of food service health, sanitation, and safety principles
- Familiarity with federal and state food safety regulations
- Understanding of food preparation, cooking methods, and ingredients
- Strong skills in delivering high-quality work
- Ability to accept responsibility and serve customers effectively
- Commitment to supporting organizational goals and continuous improvement
- Integrity and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage change and communicate effectively
Job Duties
- Support culinary and pastry lab instruction through inventory management and lab maintenance
- Oversee setup, breakdown, and cleaning of labs and demonstration stations
- Manage semester inventory, par orders, and distribution of student supplies
- Communicate with faculty regarding food item shortages and substitutions
- Coordinate food purchases and vendor relations
- Supervise and train college lab assistants and work-study students, including scheduling and time sheet approvals
- Demonstrate proper operation of commercial cooking and dishwashing equipment and ensure safety compliance
- Conduct inspections to ensure sanitation, uniform compliance, and equipment accountability
- Manage repair and preventative maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment
- Coordinate dining room setup, guest service, and fine dining meal service training for students
- Develop recruitment activities, conduct tours, and manage public relations efforts
- Publish menus and coordinate event reservations for internal and external customers
- Support policy, procedure, safety, and equipment training for staff and students
- Travel to multiple campuses as needed and work irregular hours including evenings
- Perform additional duties as assigned
