Job Requirements
- Associate's degree
- Five years experience in food service or hospitality industry
- Two years supervisory experience
- Valid Texas driver license
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to manage lab assistants and students
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to manage inventory and purchases
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in food service or hospitality industry
- At least 2 years supervisory experience
- Culinary arts teaching experience preferred
- Valid Texas driver license
- ServSafe certification
- Knowledge of food services health, sanitation and safety principles
- Familiarity with federal and state food safety regulations
- Understanding of food preparation and cooking methods

Job Duties
- Support culinary and pastry lab instruction by receiving, storing and issuing instructional items
- Manage maintenance and cleaning of labs
- Oversee daily setup and breakdown of labs, demonstration stations and coolers
- Manage semester inventory of equipment, food and supplies
- Communicate shortages or substitutions of food items with faculty and organize solutions
- Manage food purchases including vendor travel
- Take weekly inventory of coolers, freezers and dry storage and create par orders
- Manage college lab assistants and work-study students including hiring, training, supervising and scheduling
- Demonstrate proper operation of commercial kitchen equipment to students and faculty
- Manage repair and maintenance schedules of all kitchen equipment
- Conduct inspections to ensure safety, sanitation and uniform compliance
- Ensure security of kitchen and dining areas as key-holder
- Support faculty in instruction of dining room service basics
- Cross-train in budget management and participate in equipment procurement
- Develop and conduct recruitment and information sessions
- Publish menus and coordinate publicity for simulated restaurant experiences
- Manage reservations for dining and special meetings
- Support orientation and continued training on kitchen policies and safety
- Travel to various locations for instruction as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
