Job Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in inflight operations, crew scheduling, or operational control center functions
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree
  • ability and willingness to fly as a crew member as needed, including during irregular operations and inclement weather conditions
  • ability to complete Alaska Airlines’ initial training/IOE, hold FAA flight attendant certificate, and remain qualified through recurrent training
  • proven ability to lead teams in high-pressure, fast-paced operational environments
  • experience developing standard operating procedures and leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing senior leaders
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • clear pre-employment DOT testing
  • minimum age of 21
  • must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Duties

  • Lead and establish priorities for the inflight duty manager team, ensuring seamless 24/7 operational support and response for inflight events and irregular operations
  • Execute the inflight operational response strategy with a 6-12-month horizon, including ownership of procedures, checklists, and coordination with cross-functional NOC teams
  • Make operational decisions related to inflight event management, crisis response, and day-to-day service levels, driving continuous improvement through lessons learned and feedback
  • Develop people through effective performance management, coaching, and delegation of stretch assignments to build team capacity for current and future operational needs
  • Shape team culture through leadership presence, reinforcing expected behaviors, and fostering collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on company policies, contractual agreements, FARs, and flight-related procedures, ensuring compliance and informed decision-making
  • Partner with senior leadership to brief on critical events, trends, and recommendations for improving inflight operational readiness
