Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in indirect tax accounting
- Preferred supervisory experience
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with data analytics and automation technology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with airline industry tax practices preferred
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business
- Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred
- 4 to 8 years of indirect tax experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with data analytics, robotics process automation, and technology tools (Alteryx preferred)
- Previous airline experience preferred
Job Duties
- Review all passenger, fuel excise, sales and use, VAT, and property tax returns and related payments
- Ensure proper tax collection and remittance
- Act as primary contact during audits and agency communications
- Review month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Implement new month-end processes to maximize efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX controls
- Identify process improvements using data analytics and technology
- Implement and administer IT systems related to tax
- Monitor and research tax laws and regulations
- Provide recommendations on tax positions
- Coordinate representation during tax audits
- Respond to proposed adjustments
- Assemble and maintain accounting and tax records
- Track and project indirect cash tax payments
- Support income tax function as needed
- Manage and develop indirect tax accountants
- Assist with special projects and tax planning
- Coordinate cross-department initiatives
- Communicate accounting impacts to business initiatives
- Independently interact with senior financial management
- Adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Manage service providers and liaise with authorities
- Lead budget and forecasting activities
- Provide training and development to staff
