Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education
- proven experience in events or volunteer management
- experience in local community engagement
- strong communication skills
- ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- positive attitude and persistence
- flexibility and adaptability
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- fluency in English
- proficiency with MS Office
- familiarity with Rosterfy volunteer management system is a plus
- available for onsite work in San Francisco
- able to work fixed-term contract through July 2026
Job Qualifications

- proven experience in events or volunteer management or project management
- experience in local community engagement
- ability to build and maintain productive relationships with local authorities and volunteer groups
- strong communication skills both oral and written

- flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team
- fluent in English
- Spanish proficiency is a plus
- proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- familiarity with volunteer management systems such as Rosterfy is a plus
Job Duties
- Develop and implement local engagement, recruitment, training, and operational delivery plans for the city volunteer program
- liaise with local stakeholders and Host City leads to support volunteer program execution
- collaborate with FIFA departments and external stakeholders to identify and meet city volunteer needs
- support centralized volunteer projects across tournament footprints
- lead city volunteer center operations during recruitment, training and tournament phases
- develop and deliver training programs to equip volunteers with necessary skills
- utilize FIFA Volunteer Platform to manage volunteer availability, preferences, roles, communications, and scheduling
- plan and execute volunteer appreciation initiatives
- manage and resolve volunteer-related issues and conflicts
- collect and manage city volunteer program information to support Volunteer Contact Centre
- analyze volunteer performance data and feedback to identify improvements
- implement continuous improvement strategies for volunteer program effectiveness
- oversee volunteer experience at non-competition venues and support match day operations as needed
- coordinate with external organizations for additional volunteer support
- ensure compliance with relevant volunteer management laws and policies
- prepare regular reports and presentations for management and stakeholders on volunteer program status and performance
