Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Four years of experience in catering, janitorial operations or food service quality control in supervisory or management capacity
- Two years of transportation operations experience preferably in tourism
- Knowledge of food and beverage processing techniques, quality control systems and auditing skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Windows based computer programs including Excel, Word and Access
- Strong team facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills
- Ability to handle conflict with tact and professionalism
- Willingness to work long hours
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work aboard trains for extended hours
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight away from home during operational seasons
Job Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Hospitality Management preferred
- Four years experience in catering, janitorial operations or food service quality control in supervisory or management capacity
- Two years experience in transportation operations preferably in tourism
- Experience in food and beverage processing techniques and quality control systems
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Windows based computer programs including Excel, Word, and Access
- Strong team facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills
- Experience in developing and presenting training materials preferred
- Knowledge of tourism and travel industry operations
- Leadership and supervisory experience
Job Duties
- Manages Guest Services Department and coordinates logistical needs with Mechanical and Transportation departments
- Oversees contractor onboarding and manages catering and janitorial contracts
- Supervises subordinate managers responsible for onboard programs and daily oversight of food, beverage, and janitorial services
- Monitors and ensures customer satisfaction
- Acts as liaison for pull contractors and cruise train charter customers coordinating schedules and logistics
- Develops and negotiates service contracts applicable to ARRC operations
- Plans and administers catering and janitorial quality control programs and develops related inspection procedures
- Coordinates onboard services delivery and collaborates with multiple departments to improve customer service efficiency
- Manages seasonal operations and charter trains including logistical coordination
- Assists in planning and executing incident management training and exercises
- Supervises team including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions
- Develops and delivers training programs related to quality control and emergency preparedness
- Acts as point of contact for USFS Whistle Stop program and manages related agreements
- Participates in Incident Command exercises and activities as required
