Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Three to five years relevant experience in hospitality preferred
  • One to three years supervising a team or in a leadership role required
  • Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification required
  • Must meet state and federal minimum age for serving alcohol
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Knowledge of restaurant database software is a plus
  • Familiarity with county regulations
  • Ability to apply dining standards
  • Strong reading and interpretation skills for food service industry materials
  • Ability to understand standardized recipes
  • Capable of writing routine reports
  • Skilled in public speaking
  • Competent in calculating food costs, pricing, discounts, inventory, and labor standards
  • Understanding of profit and loss and capital projects
  • Basic math and budget analysis skills
  • Strong planning, problem solving, decision making, delegation, time management, and staff development skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, continuously improving environments

Job Duties

  • Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support the achievement of company goals
  • Support the Director in providing strategic intelligence to partners and clients including vision, business planning, capital expansion, branding, menu and clubhouse design
  • Ensure superior standards of food service and quality meet or exceed expectations
  • Maintain effective communication regarding F&B operations, safety, and employee concerns and motivate team members
  • Hire, train, and supervise F&B staff
  • create weekly schedules
  • coach and encourage team members
  • Recognize and celebrate team success and maintain a positive work environment
  • Manage cost of goods, labor, and expenses for F&B operations
  • Establish and manage purchase order programs, department checkbooks, contribution reports, and budgets
  • Coordinate with Club Manager to set budgets and sales goals
  • Execute daily, monthly, and annual budgets
  • Create operational reports as requested
  • Oversee all F&B functions including corporate parties and weddings
  • Stay current with new products and market trends and attend culinary exhibitions and seminars
  • Perform other duties as assigned
