Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education preferred
- Minimum seven years of related technical experience in simulation support and troubleshooting
- Three to five years of supervisory experience in relevant aviation training or simulation environment
- Ability to manage department budget and staffing levels
- Knowledge of ITAR and Export Control Laws compliance
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficient in implementing safety training and risk mitigation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate maintenance and regulatory qualification events
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university preferred
- AA/AS from a college or completion of a civilian/military school program or certification
- Seven years' related experience including direct simulation technical support, fault analysis and repair of digital and analog FTDs and subsystems or related experience
- Minimum of three to five years of supervisory experience, including hands-on supervisory role of NAA certified full flight simulators or related supervisory experience
- Demonstrated accountability and acceptance of responsibility for productivity and quality of work
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills to earn trust and respect through honesty and professionalism
- Proven teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with employees to achieve common goals
- Analytical thinking with ability to evaluate alternatives and develop solutions
- Detail oriented with a commitment to high quality standards
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Technical aptitude related to specialized field of activity requiring advanced knowledge
Job Duties
- Coordinate and manage department staffing levels with approval from the Center Manager
- Prepare, submit and monitor annual budget for department
- Review monthly revenue and expense reports and evaluate department expenses for cost control program implementation and tracking
- Manage designated staff to ensure scheduling of the FTD maintenance and/or regulatory qualification events with Center Manager or Customer Support
- Oversee, or delegate, administrative procedures including review and approval of time sheets, vacation schedules, disciplinary actions
- Plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate all training device maintenance functions and activities of department staff
- Oversee spares and support equipment inventory management and control to ensure proper support of fully operational Simulator systems
- Monitor configuration control of the FTD to ensure accurate representation of the modeled aircraft
- Provide recommendations concerning replacement of antiquated equipment and necessary upgrades or modifications
- Ensure software and hardware modifications to FTDs are approved and coordinated with designated Simulator Qualification and Lead Technician
- Assist Director of Simulator Support with special projects as required
- Develop and implement procedures for inspections, operations, calibration, maintenance, modification of FTDs and regulatory compliance
- Accountable for compliance with ITAR and Export Control Laws
- Provide safety training and supervision to assigned technical personnel
- Identify, communicate and address safety risks adhering to the company's Safety Management System goals
